Ascension is one of the nation’s leading non-profit and Catholic health systems, with a Mission of delivering compassionate, personalized care to all with special attention to persons living in poverty and those most vulnerable. In FY2024, Ascension provided $2.1 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs. Ascension includes approximately 131,000 associates, 37,000 affiliated providers and 136 hospitals, serving communities in 18 states and the District of Columbia.
As Ascension had acquired so many hospitals across the country, those acquisitions each operated from their own web platform and still carried their own brand. This led to additional technology debt and inconsistent brand identity.
Designing a solution leveraging Sitecore CMS to unify their experiences, create better visibility to their expansive network of healthcare providers, and create consistency across the hospital systems – while understanding the nuances of each. To do so, we partnered directly with hospital business leaders and actual content authors to ensure that our solution met both the business and patient needs.
The solution was launched on time and on-budget for Michigan and Wisconsin locations by working collaboratively with local hospital end-users and performing regular usability testing with patients.
To do so, I led the program across the 3 third-party vendors and over 50 team members and performed all program management, scrum master, and account management activities.
While doing this, I also provided oversight to media and creative teams to ensure the targeted landing pages were appropriate for the marketing strategy as well as identify opportunity to leverage Sitecore FXM to better personalize landing pages and improve conversion – in the end, driving better care for their patients.
During release, I created the training videos for leveraging the CMS to author content for each page given my experience in creating the content nodes and the strategy behind the content strategy.
